After me and Lilly going to see Stomp a few weeks ago (which rocked!), we have been thinking of trying to sort out a Fever does stomp routine.
Rather than rip off Stomp.. I've just had what I think to be a wicked idea in a similar vane.
A juggling/spinning routine using household objects!
I'm thinking the kitchen is the best source of props... so maybe we set up the stage like a kitchen in preperation to make some food/drinks.
The possibilities seem endless. Juggling with anything we can find, passing larger kitchen utensils (Ladels, fish slices etc...)
Staffers could use mops/brooms etc...
...and I'm sure we can find some stuff that we can use as poi.
Obviously need to get some bar flair in there as well :)
Sooooo here is the place to throw ideas around. All go to your kitchens and see what you can find and work on some stuff over Xmas... then all come back after the holidays and we'll see what we can put together.
I'll be creating another topic entitled "Fever Show" as I really would like to do a show before the end of this year.
Cheers

brooms - yes, broom handles - no.
My idea is not to tamper with the props :) So they could be used as a broom before and after you have done spinning.
You'll just have to adapt - mops might be a better option, if they have a light head on them.
mmm as for poi, how about tea towels so they look like flags. Granted we might need to add some weight onto one edge, but we can easily do that so the audience don't know.
Oooh also you often get kitchen utensils with a loop of string/rope on the end of them (for hanging them up)....
Plastic bags with something in them to give them weight - maybe someone could be collecting up rubbish and spinning the bags.

The kitchen is always a good place for juggling. Fruit and veg, cutlery, plates (someone could do some plate-spinning), bottles, eggs, etc all have endless possibilities. It's possible to use pan lids as diabolos too, although i dont know what kitchen-related object could be used as the string. How about a string of sausages as poi? And then theres always eating-while-juggling routines.

If i see you doing the apple eating routine, or any similar thing, I will shoot you :P
I'll be looking into the "No Clowns" t-shirts soon ;)

maybe for poi u cud use a single onion in a bag or something like that? u normally get fruit n veg in bags that u cud prob turn into a form of sock poi, alternatively how about a string of sausages as poi, that'd work! lol the staff people cud use mthe mops to wipe up the jugglers mess when they drop food on the floor :oP love the idea of a kitchen set tho, would look so awesome!!!

Following on from Elwyn, packs of 3 onions come in that mesh netting, take two out and you have sock poi! of course we would have to alter the packaging to make the mesh longer, but it would still look the real deal.
Alternatively, and quite ingeniatively, aprons would make excellent flag poi; think about it, most are big and flat enough to catch the air, most have pockets in the front which we could use to weight them (with kitchen paraphenalia?) and a looping cord at the top, perfect to use as a very flexible handle.
P.S. I product tested this back at home, and using plain cotton aprons (not the plastic ones they're too stiff and fold against the air) and one large potato in the pocket they work brilliantly. I might just bring them in one Sunday to try out in a bigger space. :)
Teatleys drawstring teabags? As a poi instrument?
devil stick> thin rolling pin and rubber handled salad fork and spoon. (fork and spoon ends to hold, handles for control)
staffs and juggling stuff is
staffs and juggling stuff is easy to do ... broom handles - wine bottle clubs ... my actual staff started life as a curtain pole ... poi will be a bit more tricky - but still a great idea - can't wait to have a go at it
