Phew!Nicely done guys good to see so many getting involved. Now this list is on the assumption all have joined Fever officially with the Union which will be checked tomorrow so if any of you still need to do it then get on the Union web site and join up,its only a fiver plus a few for C&S membership and we can't let you burn without it.

Ok so the above people will need to be at the session on Sunday to have a decent go with the fire kit undipped.

The session will end at 2pm as usual and you have an hour until we meet back at the Union at 3. We are hoping to get a meeting room booked but will confirm. Somewhere you will be shown a video about fire safety a part of which is an interview with a fire performer named Pele which is designed to...well...ensure you understand what you are letting yourselves in for. From here we'll head up to Cumberland park just off Ashby Road,if anybody lives closer to the park and wants to meet us there please post here just so's I knows.

The procedure for passing the Fever Fire Safety for poi is listed below, all procedures apply to staff and juggling and I have listed the respective move lists at the end of the poi section.

First Burn, done in day light.
• Three beat weave and butterfly only, watched by 2 members on the committee.
While your waiting grab a set of unlit fire kit and practice your reverse three beat weave, Take Outs and Reels and show a committee member as this will be your moveset for Burn 2.

Second Burn, done at dusk.
• Take outs, reels and reverse three beat weave.
• You don't have to do all or any of these moves on your 2nd burn, only try things you are comfortable with.
All goes to plan and Two committee members will sign you off saying your good to have a spin in the dark.

When its dark have a spin with some more unlit kit and try to get used to spinning things you cant see as this will help you when all you can see is the balls of fire.

Third Burn, done in darkness.

• Same moveset as 2nd burn but if its your first burn in the dark I'd reccommend not trying the moves so much as just spinning them and enjoying the sight and sound they make, its an experience!

Fourth Burn,done at any time.
• You'll be watched playing unlit by two committee members and if your safe and they're happy then burn number 4 you are free to try anything you are confident with.

STAFF
• First burn only propeller and weave
• Second burn side weave and front to back propeller
• Third burn same as the second

JUGGLING
• First burn only cascade
• Second burn dips and doubles
• Third burn back to cascade and if very confident dips or doubles

You will need to ensure you are wearing the right clothes to be burning in. Trousers should be of heavy weight material, such as jeans or thick combats. They should not be too baggy, should have as few pockets as possible, and with no loose material (such as cords etc).
T-shirts or similar are fine for tops. Again, these should not be baggy or have loose material on them, and no hoods to be worn while burning. I do suggest you bring lots of layers as it will be very cold and we will be out there for a while.
Trainers or boots with plenty of grip should be worn.
Long hair should be tied back or worn under hat or bandana. No loose jewellery can be worn. I also suggest for those of you who normally wear rings to take them off before you come to the park. Spinning with rings on can be uncomfortable and I don’t want anyone to lose rings or small items of jewellery. Lastly bear in mind whatever you wear will probably end up with soot and /or fin on it so probably not an idea to wear your sunday best.

I think that is everything...well it is for now anyway. If you have any questions then let me know, here or on the facebook fever page or message me (Alex Green)

Oh 1 more thing actually, I believe Mr Events is still looking for people to do performances and bearing in mind you need a fair number of non fire performances under your belt before you can perform with fire at a Fever gig some of you may want to grab the last spaces to start getting that experience!
Thanks for reading,Alex
